Casino regulation? It's a tricky debate with good arguments on both sides.
On the one hand, you gotta regulate these places. Casinos will try to cheat and scam where they can to line their pockets. Marked cards, rigged machines, booze to cloud judgment—it's all fair game if oversight is lacking. For the players, stricter rules are better. Protect the little guy!
But then again, too much regulation and you stifle the whole industry. Innovation and profits suffer under intense scrutiny and red tape. Every small rule has a big cost. And let's face it, the house ultimately wins anyway. You can't regulate away the enormous advantages casinos have.
So what's the right approach? Well it depends who you ask. The players want protection. The casinos want freedom. The gaming commissions have to find the balance. Me, I say you guard against the worst cheats and scams, but don't pretend you can somehow make casino gambling "fair" with rules. The house always wins, the players always lose (and often drink too much!)—that's just how the game is played.
