DraftKings betting surcharge could generate $270million gross gaming revenue

An estimate suggests that DraftKings' recently announced surcharge on winning sports bets in four states could result in an additional $270 million in gross gaming revenue.

The gambling company announced last week that it would begin imposing a small tax in Illinois, New York, Pennsylvania, and Vermont on winning sports bets. The goal of this is to reduce the company's effective tax rate in those high-tax states.
