During the first quarter of 2023, Macau casinos served about 5 million visitors.

Casinos in Macau rely largely on tourists from mainland China. The enclave is as active as it has been since COVID-19 emerged more than three years ago, with its gates now accessible to Chinese people as well as visitors coming from Hong Kong and Taiwan.
The Chinese Special Administrative Region (SAR) saw about five million visitors in the first three months of the year, according to information released over the weekend by the Macau Government Tourism Office (MGTO). According to the government agency, 4.96 million visitors visited Macau during the quarter.
