Dutch Gambling Authority provides updates to national self-exclusion scheme

The Netherlands' self-exclusion program has been updated by the Gambling Authority, or Kansspelautoriteit (KSA).

The enhancements will result in stricter regulations regarding the handling and management of personal data.

The regulator claims that the initiative may have previously encountered issues with missing names or birth dates from ID documents, which have since been resolved by the scheme's new API.

To stop players who have signed up for it from gambling, gambling providers are required to regularly cross-check with the register.

At present, approximately 75,000 players have utilized the program to abstain from gambling.
