Stricter enforcement measures against the unauthorized placement of gaming machines have been announced by the Dutch Gaming Authority. This decision was made in response to frequent complaints about operators violating the terms of their licenses to operate slot machines.
The Dutch Gaming Authority will mandate that operators make the necessary corrections within a fortnight of any such violations being discovered.
In the Netherlands, an arcade or catering business cannot have a slot machine without at least two permits. To operate slot machines, operators need to get a presence permit from the municipality where the machines will be installed as well as a license from the Dutch Gaming Authority.
