Dutch gambling regulator warns of rising illegal market threat

The national self-exclusion register is being used by illicit operators to target players, according to the chairman of the Dutch gambling regulator. They have been doing this by using Google Maps ads and the regulator logo.

In addition to pledging to work for the regulator to be given the authority to block unlawful websites, he pleaded with licensed operators to "do everything they can" to safeguard players.

Similar to Germany, the Netherlands is reviewing its gambling laws; however, the chairman did not provide a timeframe.
