Dutch gambling tax generates $1billion through online gaming

Since the fall of 2021, Dutch citizens are able to wager on authorized casino websites. Since then, the market has persisted in experiencing success, which is simultaneously helping the government. The Netherlands collected about $1 billion in gambling taxes last year.

A permitted online gambling platform was used by about one in 20 Dutch citizens, according to the Dutch gaming regulator. The government was able to collect €900 million in gambling taxes as a result for 2022.

As more licenses are granted by the Dutch government and more customers choose online gambling sites, the number is only anticipated to rise. According to the study, 60% of online gamblers had never gambled before the iGaming industry started.
