Dutch politicians agree to increase gambling tax rate

The Netherlands' four major political parties have decided to increase the gambling tax rate to 37.8%.

An additional €202 million is expected to be brought into government coffers by the tax increase, which would raise the tax from its current rate of 30.5%.

The debate over a possible ban on specific online casino products and a general ban on gambling advertising, which would upgrade the current advertising restrictions put in place last July, is taking place concurrently with discussions surrounding the Netherlands' gambling tax.
