After learning that the jailed Trinamul leader Anubrata Mondal had won the jackpot and received a prize of Rs 1 crore, the Enforcement Directorate (ED), which is looking into the money trail in the massive cattle smuggling case, decided to question senior executives of a lottery company.
Senior ED officials stated that they intended to question the directors of the lottery company to better understand the business model, including funding patterns, ticket distribution across states, and turnovers over the previous few years.
