The global gambling behemoth Entain, said on Thursday that it is prepared to suffer losses in connection with allegations of bribery relating to its previous business transactions in Turkey. It has set aside £585 million in anticipation of reaching an agreement with the UK tax authorities, HMRC, to help resolve the matter. The gaming industry was taken aback when Entain revealed in May that it will probably be hit with a sizable fine despite the inquiry being conducted behind closed doors.
