Entain says illegal in-play bets in Australia were the result of clerical error

Entain was hit with a fine by the Australian Communications and Media Authority last Friday. This is just one of many fines the gaming operator has racked up over the years. Although the company admits to taking illicit bets on a golf tournament, it maintains that the infraction was caused by a straightforward administrative mistake. Bettors could place their bets on the event for three hours. It wasn't until a user managed to draw a company representative's attention to the issue that Entain became aware of the problem.
