ESPN could face major changes to its sports betting app

The first direct entry into sports betting was made by the Worldwide Leader in Sports with the launch of ESPN Bet in November. However, less than a year later, ESPN Bet's operator, Penn Entertainment, may be acquired by another operator, throwing the company's future in jeopardy.

As per a Reuters report, Boyd Gaming, a casino operator based in Las Vegas that operates 28 gaming properties spread across 10 states, has reportedly contacted Penn to determine the extent of interest that the company is willing to offer to its rival.
