ESRI study finds that 1 in 30 people are suffering from problem gambling in Ireland

The Economic & Social Research Institute has released updated data regarding problem gambling in Ireland.

When compared to a study from 2019, the ESRI found that an estimated 1 in 30 adults in Ireland now have gambling problems, a tenfold increase. 2,850 adults took part in the focus group during the online study.

The Department of Justice and the Implementation Team supporting the creation of the new Gambling Regulatory Authority of Ireland commissioned the study.
