Evans' valiant victory advances Great Britain in the United Cup.

After Dan Evans defeated Albert Ramos-Violas of Spain 6-3 1-6 6-3 in Sydney, Great Britain won their United Cup group. In a difficult match earlier, Harriet Dart fell to Paula Badosa, although she contributed to winning the final doubles rubber. In the City Final, Britain will take on the Group C Group A champion. Evans defeated the Spaniard in the first set, winning it 6-3, knowing that a victory would advance his team. However, he fell behind in the second set, dropping it 6-1.
