Evolution lets go of 1,000 workers at Tbilisi headquarters

A strike at the company's Tbilisi studio has forced Evolution to fire a total of 1,000 employees across its Georgian operations.

A staff strike that began in mid-July over "unsafe and unsanitary workplace conditions, harassment by managers, and meagre pay" led to the company's announcement of "large-scale layoffs" last week, according to media reports.

The international gaming supplier blamed the layoffs on recent illegal actions by the trade union, which have prevented Evolution's clients from using the company's Tbilisi studio to run their live casino tables.
