Fanatics Betting and Gaming appoints chief media officer

Fanatics was founded by an e-commerce entrepreneur who sold trading cards, digital collectibles, and sports memorabilia.

In his new position, the employee thinks Fanatics can leverage its 90 million-strong customer base to gain an edge in the online sportsbook gaming market and eventually compete with US behemoths FanDuel and DraftKings.

Despite not being in business yet, Fanatics Betting and Gaming applied for a trademark this year and was granted permission to operate in Maryland.
