FanDuel deals blow to DraftKings in betting taxes

The parent company of FanDuel, Flutter Entertainment, dealt a blow to rival DraftKings by announcing today that it will not be imposing taxes on winning sports bets in certain high-tax states.

Penn Entertainment, the owner of ESPN Bet, stated last week that it is keeping an eye on the surcharge situation and is neither supporting nor disparaging the concept. That's as close as a gaming company has gotten to supporting DraftKings, but it's still a stretch.
