FanDuel pushes against betting tax increase in Illinois

Nevertheless, taking into account the proposed budget, Illinois's 15% betting tax may soon change. The tax on wagering revenue would rise from 15% to 35% under the proposal. The additional $200 million in taxes that would result from this increase is stated in the proposed budget.

Naturally, not everyone is in favor of the proposed tax increase. According to a screenshot of a message from the sportsbook published by PlayIllinois, the industry-leading operator of betting and gaming, FanDuel, recently urged Illinois residents to vote "NO" on the proposed tax increase. Over the weekend, FanDuel's Illinois reportedly received the message.
