FanDuel says no to DraftKings surcharge proposal

Flutter Entertainment thought things through quickly. The Dublin-based company used the occasion of its earnings call to publicly declare that it would not be putting into practice the "surcharge" that DraftKings had suggested two weeks prior in an attempt to lessen the financial burden on states like New York, Pennsylvania, Vermont, and Illinois that impose high taxes on gambling.

Companies like DraftKings and FanDuel are disadvantaged by Illinois' progressive tax because it requires them to pay a higher levy on their operations.
