FanDuel takes over lottery operations from Gambet in Washington DC

Per a communication from the Office of Lottery and Gaming to the D.C. City Council, FanDuel is poised to become the exclusive sportsbook platform for bettors in the District of Columbia. Nevertheless, the letter does not provide a timeline for FanDuel's citywide platform launch. As indicated in the communication, once FanDuel assumes control, the lottery agency will no longer bear the burden of annual operating costs ranging from $2 million to $4 million. Instead, FanDuel will manage all facets of operations, including payment processing, promotional activities, marketing endeavors, and retailer commissions.
