The online horse racing betting operator ZEturf Group has been officially acquired by the national lottery operator Française des Jeux (FDJ). Last month, the €175m deal received competition approval.
FDJ aims to expand its presence in the online gambling market through this acquisition. ZEturf, established in 2001, currently holds approximately 20 percent of the market share for online horse racing betting in France. Additionally, it operates in the Netherlands, Belgium, and Spain.
In terms of the French online horse racing betting market, ZEturf is the second-largest operator after PMU. However, PMU maintains a monopoly on betting at physical points of sale.
