Federal Court enforces $300 million penalty for Crown Resorts

After it was accepted by the Federal Court, Crown Resorts stated it will pay the US$300 million civil penalty first agreed upon with AUSTRAC. The lawsuit against the casino has been concluded after months of ongoing fines and punitive action taken against Crown, which was found to be responsible for numerous significant regulatory violations, including sponsoring terrorism and money laundering. In this case, Crown self-reported to the Ombudsman after discovering the mistakes in a payroll review, promptly issuing an apology and compensating people who were impacted by the issue.
