Federal Court rules in favour of Seminole over sports betting hearing

In its appeal of a decision made by a lower court, a federal appeals court sided with the Seminole Tribe. In that ruling, it was determined that the tribe's Class III gaming agreement with the State of Florida broke the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act. The tribe is legally permitted to restart its online sportsbook and the Seminole compact has been determined to be valid for the time being, although the defendant could ask the appeal court to hold a full "en banc" hearing. The US Supreme Court would be the company's last resort if the circuit rejects its request.
