Finland Institute of Health & Welfare voices concern about rising cases of gambling harm

Despite a fall in gambling participation, Finland's Institute of Health and Welfare has voiced serious concerns about the rising number of cases of gambling-related disorders.

The Health Institute noticed this while gathering information from the general public about the prevalence of moderate and problem gambling risks among Finnish adults.

The research manager stated that although gambling has decreased, the preliminary results clearly show that more serious problems have increased. As a result, the Finnish government and health services should be aware of the abnormalities reported on gambling harms and prevalence.
