Finland set to introduce gambling act to end gambling regulator monopoly

The government-owned gambling regulator in Finland currently has a monopoly on online casino gaming and betting. As part of a proposed reform of the nation's current legal gambling industry, the Ministry of the Interior of Finland has announced the start of a consultation period.

The industry will be accessible to private businesses who want to apply for licenses to operate in the Finnish market thanks to proposed legislation. Due to the proliferation of unlicensed online gambling sites in the local market, modifications to the gambling environment have been suggested.
