Floating the flop then check-raising the turn with 22

Here's Is floating the flop then check-raising the turn with a weak pair like 2-2 a good play or just too risky? While some casino players argue check-raising with 22 can work as a bluff or steal the pot if unpaired, I'm skeptical. Hitting two pair or better on the turn happens so infrequently that more often this move will just raise suspicions and cost chips when called. Though check-raising with trash hands occasionally succeeds, I think it's usually wiser to give up before the turn with 22 unless given a free card. What do you think? Do you go for risky check-raises with weak pairs hoping it fools others, or conserve chips by accepting defeat sooner?
