Florida gambling stakeholders asks Supreme Court to intervene and invalidate agreement

The state's highest court has been requested to intervene by gambling interests in Florida who are opposed to a plan to give the Seminole Tribe sole control of sports betting there.

The proprietors of two casinos in South Florida are requesting that the Florida Supreme Court essentially void a treaty with the Seminole Tribe. The tribe would have a monopoly on sports betting in the state through its current casinos and its online Hard Rock Bet sportsbook if the governor signs the compact in 2021.

This development is of great significance in the ongoing discussions surrounding the gambling sector in the state. It serves to emphasize the intricate nature and the possibility of divergent opinions that may emerge in relation to the regulations and agreements pertaining to gambling.
