Florida man sentenced to 30 months in prison for fueling gambling addiction with tuition money

A Florida man was sentenced to 2.5 years in prison on Tuesday after it was found that he had stolen tuition from hundreds of families intending to send their kids to sports camps and used the money for gambling, vacations, and cosmetic surgery.

Prosecutors said that he made a false claim that he would host his yearly MB Sports Camps at a college in the Boston area. The suspect persisted in promoting his camp and raising money from over 300 families nationwide, even after the city informed him that he could not set up camp anywhere in Boston due to a lack of necessary permits.
