Football lottery scams: beware

In order to get people to respond to fake lottery mailings, con artists are taking advantage of enthusiasm in the World Cup of football.
These mailers seek for money in order to claim a "large" cash reward while making false claims about their affiliation with the event and include official logos. Such benefits are rarely encountered.
According to National Trading Standards, a spike in letters occurred during prior big tournaments.
In order to gather information regarding frauds, officers stated they needed the public's assistance.
They are calling the initiative a Scamnesty and asking people to send any fake mail they receive to fair trading over the course of the next month.
