Former governor of Pennsylvania opposes skill gaming tax being lower than slot levy

A tax rate akin to what casinos pay on their slot machines should be imposed by Harrisburg lawmakers, according to the former governor of Pennsylvania, if they wish to establish regulations for contentious grey gaming machines.

According to him, the state's 2004 Gaming Act was developed with significant lobbying support from the casino industry. Casinos informed him, he stressed, that the state's 54% tax on gross revenue won from slots was excessive and would discourage them from making investments in the state.
