Former Iowa state quarterback involved in gambling speaks on transfer decision

Dekkers spent three seasons as a quarterback for the Iowa State football program after joining in 2020. Nevertheless, according to information from ESPN, he and three other ISU athletes entered a guilty plea to a lesser charge of underage gambling.

After that, he quit the Iowa State football program, but he continued to attend classes virtually. He clarified that he lost the remaining years of his college athletic eligibility due to a wager he made on his team during a 2021 competition. Even though he wasn't participating in the game, his account was connected to the wager.
