Former Mississippi casino hotel could be used to house immigrant minors

Migrants without parental supervision may be housed in a former casino hotel in Tunica, Mississippi.

After Harrah's Casino closed in 2014, the expansive Harrah's Hotel Complex has been empty since. This is where the Influx Care Facility would be situated.

As per the board attorney's understanding, any facility that houses immigrant minors who are 17 years of age or younger must comply with stringent federal regulations. Additionally, the facility should be self-contained.
