Former New York governor claims Hofstra University banned him over Long Island casino rift

Due to his position as a lobbyist for Las Vegas Sands, the former governor of New York claims Hofstra University, where he received his legal degree, prohibited him from attending events on campus.

Located close to Hofstra in Uniondale, New York, is the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum, where Sands, a gaming company, hopes to construct a casino hotel. The university has used New York courts to thwart the plan and is adamantly opposed to that endeavor.
