There ain't no replacement for sitting across from your opponents, seeing the fear in their eyes as they stare down a monster hand. Live poker lets you get a bead on folks, pick up their tells and rhythms. You can adjust your game real-time based on how they react. Online, it's just faces on cards and numbers. Don't get me wrong, I put in my hours on the virtual felt too, it's good practice. But when real money's on the table and big splits are being pushed, there's no button to click for "all-in". You either flop that draw or you're drawing dead. Live poker is pure instinct, total adrenaline. The action might move a little slower, giving me more time to read each play, but a big pot still gets the blood pumping like nothing else. Live or die, both have a time and place, but live poker will always be number one.
