French gambling regulator issues warning over illegal online casinos on Facebook

Customers have been cautioned by the French gambling regulator, the Autorité Nationale des Jeux, about illicit gambling websites that use licensed operators' brands to advertise their services on Facebook.

According to the regulator, it is aware of multiple illicit operators who deceive users into playing on their websites using this technique. The regulator is collaborating with the social media behemoth on the issue and keeps a close eye on Facebook every day.

About 400 website URLs have been reported by the agency to Meta, Facebook's parent company, thus far. As a result, 137 user accounts on the social network have been closed.
