Full House Resorts hits snag in permanent casino construction due to legal issues

American Place, a $400 million casino resort in Waukegan, Illinois, is nearing completion according to Full House Resorts' final plans. However, the Illinois Gaming Board and the City of Waukegan are being sued by the Forest County Potawatomi Community, which is bringing legal action against them. As a result, the gaming destination that is intended to serve and cater to high rollers has not yet broken ground.

According to Illinois gaming law, transient casinos can only be open for a maximum of two years, so American Place has to open by February 17, 2025.
