A new study conducted by the Betting and Gaming Council (BGC) in the UK has revealed that gamblers in the country are worried about new restrictions being imposed on betting. The study surveyed over 2,000 UK gamblers and found that 72% are afraid that any new restrictions will severely impact their ability to enjoy gambling, while 64% believe that such measures will only push them towards unlicensed operators.
The BGC has been actively working with the UK government to create a safer and more responsible gambling environment, but it appears that gamblers are still concerned about the impact of new measures on their ability to gamble. The study also found that 56% of respondents believe that they are capable of managing their own gambling without intervention, and that 84% of them are aware of responsible gambling tools available to them.
The findings of this study suggest that there is a need for a more balanced approach to regulating the gambling industry in the UK, one that does not unduly restrict the freedom of individuals to gamble responsibly while also ensuring that public health and safety are protected.
