A court heard testimony about a man who embezzled over £14,800 from his own step-granddad to feed his gambling habit. After entering a guilty plea to a single fraud charge, the suspect appeared before Truro Crown Court today to receive a sentence.
The court was informed that he discovered his step-grandfather's bank account information on a piece of paper in his home, and between May 22 and June 7, 2023, he made 168 separate transfers totaling £14,870 from the elder's bank account into his own.
