Gambling addict who started aged eight proposes tougher restrictions on gambling ads

More stringent laws regarding advertising are being demanded by a Rotherham man, whose addiction to gambling started at the age of eight at seaside slot machines.

When he was a child, his family would take him to arcades on vacation, and over the next 20 years, this led to homelessness and an overdose.

He stopped gambling in 2018 and claimed to be happy now, despite the absolute chaos it had caused.

The gambler estimated that he had lost over £100,000 during his gambling career and that he still owed about £30,000.
