The report that WWE was seeking validation for wagering on its events was debunked the next day by all three state agencies referred to in the piece. The Colorado Division of Gaming issued an announcement Thursday morning in response to "the inaccurate representation" in the article that the pro wrestling corporation was in talks with the division about enabling sportsbooks to also provide betting markets on its contests. WWE matches, unlike sports activities, are orchestrated with predetermined outcomes. The statement went on to say that state law prohibits providing odds on "events with fixed or predicted outcomes or purely by chance."
