The new restrictions will take effect for gamblers who spend £500 per month beginning on August 30 and will get tighter starting on February 28 of the following year for those who spend £150 per month, according to the commission. The goal of this program is to identify those who are extremely financially vulnerable when they gamble online, such as those who have a history of unpaid debts or bankruptcy orders.
