Gambling losses in Queensland now exceed AU$5 billion per year.

The latest statistics released by the Queensland Government indicate that the local community has experienced a substantial increase in gambling losses, reaching a staggering amount of over AU$5.1 billion during the previous fiscal year. These figures reveal a notable surge of 11.3% compared to the preceding financial year, in which losses amounted to AU$4.6 billion. Remarkably, these losses surpass the numbers recorded in 2018-19 before the global pandemic struck, when losses reached a total of AU$4.3 billion.
