Gambling trade group encourages internet regulators to crack down on sweepstakes

Internet sweepstakes should be subject to stricter regulations, according to the American Gaming Association, the leading trade organization in the country that advocates for the interests of the commercial and tribal gaming sectors in Congress and throughout the nation.

Using internet websites and applications, so-called "sweepstakes casinos" provide standard slot machines and table games. By using a dual-currency system, the platforms get around both state and federal gaming laws.
