Genting Malaysia obtains approval of shareholders in Miami sale

Shareholders of Genting Malaysia approved the firm's intentions to sell its Miami property for $1.225 billion on Thursday. Genting is giving up its plans to move to the Sunshine State after 12 years of passively clinging onto the land. The company intends to use the money to fund its additional gaming ventures both domestically and internationally.The purchaser is a consortium of investors overseen by the Terra consortium, a South Florida-based developer of commercial and residential real estate.
