Georgia legislature fails to approve sports betting amendment

Before the Georgia legislature's session came to an end, two bills pertaining to sports betting were not approved.

Georgia House members were unable to approve the primary legislation and its companion bill on Thursday. Georgian online sports would be governed by a constitutional amendment under the two proposed bills. Voters who qualified could cast ballots later this year to decide whether or not sports betting would continue in the state thanks to the constitutional amendment.
