German gambling regulator has filed 1,500 reports of illegal gambling since 2023

Roughly half of the 1,500 reports filed since the beginning of 2023 had to do with alleged instances of illicit internet gambling. The other half focused on potential anomalies at websites that provide legal content.

The regulator has conducted its own investigations in addition to using the reporting portal. At the start of 2023, the group fully took over the gambling industry in Germany. In July 2021, the Fourth State Treaty on Gambling came into force in the nation, establishing the regulator.

In 2023, the regulator was able to detect illegal gambling and related marketing on over 1,860 websites, 483 gaming providers, and advertisers thanks to the authority's investigations and whistleblower system.
