Glasgow councilor calls for targeted gambling levy investment

A Glasgow councillor has expressed concerns about the potential benefits to local communities of the UK Government's proposed mandatory gambling levy, especially in areas where gambling-related harms are disproportionately prevalent.

Glasgow, which has the most bookmakers outside of London, has serious gambling problems; according to national statistics, one in fifteen citizens, or about 45,000 people, may be struggling with gambling.
