Goldsmith tricked into claiming false online lottery with $892 loss

Fraudsters defrauded a 50-year-old goldsmith who purchased an online Kerala lottery ticket of $892, claiming that the ticket had won a prize of $17,728. The miscreants made him send them the money while citing a number of charges.
However, the victim realized he was being duped when the con artists persisted in requesting more money.

The victim reported to the police that he came upon a post about the Kerala lottery on Facebook while using his smartphone. The post included a few ticket numbers. A webpage opened after he clicked on the advertisement.

These type of scams are pretty much common in the industry and where the people are not much educated they can easily fall on to such scams the people must always take care to find out whether an offer is the true and only then they should go about it otherwise they should always inform the authorities if they consider that the proposed offer is a scam actually
