The Mississippi-based Gulfside Casino Partnership isn't giving up on its goal of using Pope County to construct and run a commercial casino in Arkansas.
An updated scope for Gulfside's River Valley Casino Resort in Russellville, which is owned by riverboat gaming pioneers, was submitted to the Arkansas Gaming Commission.
A sportsbook, 300 hotel rooms, a sportsbook, and a 70,000-square-foot casino with about 1,500 slot machines are all included in the $405 million proposal. The resort would have meeting rooms, a spa, a fitness center, a number of eateries and pubs, and an outdoor amphitheater.
