The group responsible, called Scattered Spider, says it infiltrated the companies' networks but does not intend to disclose what was taken publicly. Caesars has informed regulators that a meaningful portion of members in its rewards program had driver's license numbers and/or Social Security numbers accessed. MGM stated it is collaborating with authorities to handle a "cyber issue." Scattered Spider is known for its skill in deceiving people to access restricted information. The FBI has launched a probe into the data breaches at MGM and Caesars.
